| Q: Why did you remove the CD/DVD checkbox option from the labels? |
| A:
Ever since we released the CD Slimspine™ product, we've been getting
requests to remove the check boxes so people can have room to put more
information on the label. With the introduction of blu-ray discs to the
mix, we decided to do away with the check boxes altogether. Consider
purchasing our new color-coded labels if you'd like to categorize your discs. |
 |
| Q: Do you make spine labels for mini-slim CD cases? |
| A:
Because of the lack of demand, we don't make labels for those tiny
mini-slim cases. But here's the good news: just slice 1.5 inches off
one side of the label and it will fit into your mini-slim case just
perfectly. |
 |
| Q: Where do I get the software? |
| A: The software is free. You can download it right from this site. Just click on the 'Software' page, then follow the instructions. |
 |
| Q: Do you sell full 8 1/2" x 11" sheets of labels? |
| A:
No, we don't, and there are many reasons for this. First of all, the
printable area is so small that if you were to improperly load a full
sheet of labels and attempt to print, you'd ruin your whole sheet of
labels. With only five labels per sheet, you'll lose less labels in case
of a mistake. Also, the perforations are so fine on these label sheets
that they might fall apart in your printer if it were a full sheet.
Lastly, if a CD company decides to carry this product with their cases,
sheets that size would not fit in their packaging. |
 |
| Q: Do you have a software version for Mac users? |
| A:
Not yet. That's another thing we're hoping to work on soon. We've had
many users tell us how much success they've had by using other programs
to create their own label templates (i.e. Photoshop, Illustrator,
InDesign, Microsoft Word). You may want to give that a try. There is a downloadable Word template on our Software page as well. |
 |
| Q: Does your company sell CD cases or blank discs? |
| A:
No, believe it or not, we don't. Not yet. Just these labels for now. As
we grow, we plan to offer cases with blank discs and labels. We may
also consider doing custom jobs, with cases containing the printed
labels. |
 |
| Q: Why am I not able to mount the label on the case properly? |
A:
Step by step instructions: Write or print on the white area of the
label, bend at the crease at a 90 degree angle, peel the gray strip
off, and stick it in inside the CD case with the text facing outward.
There is no adhesive on the area where the text is written. Our product
is a bit unique, so it's understandable why it might take a minute to
figure out, but you'll get the hang of it. You can also refer to the animated image on the home page. |
 |
| Q: Why is the software not working properly? |
| A:
Our software works on most PC's, and the labels will print on most home
printers, but we can't guarantee it will work on all of them. Some
printers won't print on the 4"x6" specialty size adhesive paper we use.
Consult your printer user manual as well as the 'Help' section in the CD
Slimspine software for printing tips. The good news is that the
software is free, so even if it doesn't work, just handwrite on the
labels. We've had many users tell us how much success they've had by
using Microsoft Word to create their own label templates. Give that a
try. There is a downloadable Word template on our Software page as well. |
 |
| Q: I can get my labels to print, but the positioning is off. How do I fix this? |
| A:
The printable area is very small, and every printer works slightly
different, so we've set up a fine adjustment ability in our software.
Click the 'Settings' menu in the software to make the fine adjustment.
It might take some trial and error to get it to line up just right. We
recommend using the same sheet of labels multiple times when you test
your printer out so you don't waste unnecessary sheets of labels. You
can also use the 'Help' section in the CD Slimspine software for more
tips. |
